Enaya And Daam Specialised Care Centre Recognised For Excellence
Doha, Qatar: Hamad Medical Corporation's (HMC) Enaya and Daam Specialised Care Centre has once again been awarded Certification for Excellence in Person-Centred Care (PCC) by Planetree, this time with gold level status.
HMC's Enaya and Daam Specialised Care Centre is one of only 116 healthcare organisations worldwide to earn this prestigious award, and this is their second certification award.
HMC's Enaya and Daam Specialized Care Centre is a support facility that works with Hamad General Hospital and Rumailah Hospital. It provides 24/7 care for long-term patients who are medically complex and chronically ill.
The Centre features 184 patient beds and is the only specialised facility of its kind in Qatar.
Gold Certification for Excellence in Person-Centred Care represents the highest level of achievement in person-centred care, based on evidence and standards. Person-centred healthcare prioritises the active participation of patients and their families throughout the healthcare process with an emphasis on partnership, compassion, transparency, inclusion, and quality.
The criteria that HMC's Enaya and Daam Specialised Care Centre satisfied to achieve Planetree Gold Certification reflect what patients, residents, family members, and healthcare professionals in hundreds of focus groups say matters most to them during a healthcare experience.
As part of the Certification process, representatives from Planetree conducted a validation assessment, engaging directly with patients, families, and staff from HMC's Enaya and Daam Specialized Care Centre.
Key person-centred policies are firmly in place, including a commitment to excellence in person-centred care, with staff actively involved at all levels in fostering a culture of compassion, collaboration, and individualised support.
HMC's Enaya and Daam Specialised Care have led transformative renovations and co-designed improvements in partnership with patients to ensure that the physical environment promotes healing and supports patient and family engagement.
A few of the many enhancements include a redesign of the dental clinic, the construction of a shaded pergola for patient comfort, the installation of dedicated patient and family rooms, and the expansion of the gym with state-of-the-art equipment.
These initiatives demonstrate a strong commitment to improving patient experience and quality of care.
Nasser Al Naimi, Chief of Patient Experience at HMC and director for the Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute, said,“The Gold level Planetree Certification is a truly remarkable achievement by Enaya and Daam Specialised Care Centre. The team underwent a rigorous assessment by the Planetree team to achieve Gold Certification. The certification process also included a thorough review of patient experience and quality performance metrics, demonstrating how continuous measurement and improvement translate into superior healthcare outcomes”.
“We are committed to consistently elevating the standards of care, providing excellence in all facets of our services to our patients, our community, our caregivers, and our care partners,” said Dr. Hanadi Khamis Mubarak Al Hamad, HMC's Deputy Chief for Long Term Care, Rehabilitation, and Geriatric Care, Medical Director of Rumailah Hospital and Qatar Rehabilitation Institute, and PCC Executive Champion of Enaya and Daam Specialised Care Centre.
“We are deeply honoured to receive recognition for our commitment to person-centred care, and we are thrilled to continue collaborating with Planetree to provide quality and person-centred healthcare in a way that best suits our patients.”
Dr. Al Hamad further stated,“The dedicated members of our Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) played a key role in driving all these developments. Being our partners, we are grateful for their invaluable contribution, their feedback helped us in shaping these transformations that will ultimately benefit patients and their families in the years to come.”
