Indian companies get struck by recent Western sanctions
(MENAFN) Several Indian companies have been hit by new sanctions imposed by the US, UK, and EU, amid ongoing geopolitical tensions. Among the firms targeted is Inussia Impex Private Limited, a Jaipur-based microelectronics company, which has been included in the latest restrictions announced by London and Brussels. This sanctions package, described as the largest of its kind, focuses on military supply chains, particularly machinery, electronics, and dual-use goods.
The EU's sanctions also impacted Pratik Corporation, a Mumbai-based manufacturer of automotive products and asset management services. This comes after previous sanctions on Indian companies such as Si2 Microsystems, Innovio Ventures, and Triac Electronics. Despite the sanctions, a government official emphasized that India has not engaged in illegal activities and reiterated India’s longstanding ties with Russia.
India has defended its relations with Russia, maintaining that its actions are driven by pragmatism and trust, despite growing pressure from the West. Additionally, the US has imposed sanctions on four Indian companies for their involvement in Iran’s petroleum and petrochemical industry.
