Syria Welcomes EU Decision To Suspend Certain Sanctions
In a post on social media platform X, al-Shaibani stated that, the Syrian government had engaged in diplomatic discussions over the past two months to push for easing“unjust sanctions” that have burdened the population.
“We welcome the European Union's decision to suspend some sanctions on specific sectors and view this as a step towards easing our people's hardship,” he wrote.
Yesterday, the EU eased some sanctions in such areas as energy, transport, banking, and exports on Syria, in a bid to aid its recovery, after the collapse of Bashar al-Assad's government in Dec last year.– NNN-SANA
