Three Private Panama Banks Close Suntracs Bank Accounts

(MENAFN- Newsroom Panama) Monday, February 24, 2025: The National Union of Workers in the Construction and Similar Industries (Suntracs) reported that in addition to closing its accounts at the state-owned Banco Nacional, the same fate has also befallen its accounts at Banco General, Banistmo and Multibank. The same thing happened with Caja de Ahorros in 2023. Suntracs Secretary General Saul Mendez said the private bank accounts were closed on Friday without further information or communication. Méndez said that the workers will resist and that he was sure that they will win together with the people, because they are not afraid of the“dictator” who governs and challenged him to do whatever he wants, because Suntracs will defend itself.
