Doha, Qatar: ExxonMobil Qatar has recognised Teach For Qatar (TFQ) during the closing ceremony of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2025, celebrating ten years of impactful partnership between the two organisations.

This recognition highlights their decade-long collaboration to advance education and empower future leaders in Qatar, reinforcing a mutual commitment to enhancing educational outcomes in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Third National Development Strategy.

Education – particularly science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education is a core area for ExxonMobil Qatar as a key driver of economic growth and opportunity. Its strategic local partnerships aim to advance STEM teaching and learning, fostering innovation and equipping students with the essential skills needed for success in today's dynamic and ever-changing world.

Rashid Al Hajri, Vice President and Manager of Public and Government Affairs for ExxonMobil Qatar, presented a recognition plaque to Nasser Al Jaber, Chief Executive Officer of Teach For Qatar, as a symbol of appreciation for TFQ's partnership and contributions to local education over the past ten years. Joining them were Darren Woods, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Exxon Mobil Corporation, along with senior representatives from ExxonMobil, Qatar Tennis Federation,and TFQ.

“As we celebrate another successful Qatar ExxonMobil Open, we take this opportunity to recognize Teach For Qatar for its unwavering commitment to education and community development,” said Taher Hamid, President and General Manager for ExxonMobil Qatar.

“Over the past decade, Teach For Qatar has made a significant impact, empowering talented individuals to reinvest in the government school system and enhance the educational experience for thousands of students,” he continued.

“In our work, we aim to inspire students to choose STEM careers with support from partners like Teach For Qatar, who share our vision of STEM's value to society and its impact. Their commitment enhances our efforts to equip students with essential skills such as critical thinking, innovation, and problem-solving, which are necessary for success in the future. We look forward to continued collaboration with them,” added Hamid.

Al Jaber expressed gratitude for the recognition by saying,“Our collaboration with ExxonMobil Qatar has been invaluable to our mission. Since our launch in 2014, ExxonMobil has provided our fellows with essential training opportunities, including access to the Qatar University ExxonMobil STEM Teacher Academy, equipping them with the skills necessary to teach STEM subjects effectively. I'm humbled by this recognition and grateful for ExxonMobil Qatar's continued support, which helps us enhance student learning in our community,” he added.

Over the past decade, TFQ has successfully recruited, trained, and placed 394 exceptional individuals as fellows in 119 public schools, positively influencing more than 51,600 students.

There are 137 fellows currently completing their two-year Leadership Journey, while 257 graduated since TFQ's establishment.
