Kuwaiti Participation In Dubai's WGS.. Openness To Global Development Vision, Partnership


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Feb 12 (KUNA) -- The State of Kuwait's participation in the World Governments Summit 2025 in Dubai had reflected the country's openness to a unified global development vision and partnership.
The World Governments Summit not only focused on shared vision for tomorrow, it also touched on numerous challenges that the world need to address before heading on the quest for greater development and progress.
The speech delivered by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah to the WSG reflected Kuwait's own national vision for development, which is more than a national plan, it has regional and international reaches that would benefit Kuwait and other world countries.
It also displayed Kuwait's deep concern over global challenges, which required global partnerships and deep understanding of what lies ahead.
His Highness the Prime Minister stressed that conflicts within the world system had an impact on global economy, the environment and other aspects that would endanger all people and lead to grave consequences.
The Kuwaiti top official casted a light on the role of governments in meeting challenges, saying that Kuwait had launched a government evaluation performance system that met the goals of implementing affective governance and boost accountability, evaluation, and anti-corruption measures.
His Highness the Prime Minister, during his speech, had brief the WGS on Kuwait Vision 2035, a plan that focused on economic diversity, financial stability and turning the country into an international hub for business and finance.
Within the vision, grand projects such as the Mubarak Al-Kabeer port, the new international airport, the railway project with the Saudi capital Riyadh and GCC countries, and other ambitious schemes were focused upon during the speech.
He reiterated Kuwait's openness to strategic partnership within investments, calling on global companies to seek business with Kuwait in line with the state ambitious vision.
His Highness the Prime Minister's speech also touched on the leadership's guidelines to transform the country's technological sphere via taking advantage of national talents and utilizing all possible resources.
Meanwhile, His Highness the Prime Minister's meetings on the sideline of the summit had displayed Kuwait's serious intention to expand cooperation with global companies and organizations.
His Highness the Prime Minister met with Hewlett-Packard (HP) CEO Enrique Lores where he touched on upon all possible opportunities to expand cooperation especially when Kuwait's intention to transform the economy digitally.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah also met with Klaus Martin Schwab, head of the broad of trustees and founder of the founder of the World Economic Forum (WEF), where they discuss cooperation.
His Highness the Amir also meet with several global leaders on the sideline of the WGS, discussing cooperation and ways to enhance ties.
The UAE's Vice President, Prime Minister, and Governor of Dubai Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashed Al-Maktoum receives His Highness the Prime Minister on the sideline of the WGS with His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah praising the tremendous achievements of the UAE and Dubai in specific in the past years especially with the hosting of the WGS.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah left Dubai today after heading Kuwait's delegation to the 12th WGS.
Within the domain of better governance, Kuwait had launched the government performance administrative system as part of its vision to boost development.
Some 15 government entities and ministries had executed the 2024-25 plan for an integrated and more transparent government to digitally transform the country, enable more participation of the private sector as well as meeting the demands of citizens.
In this light, the Kuwaiti government implemented legislations allowing for non-Kuwaitis to own real estate and increase residency visa for a period of 15 for investors subjected to law 116/2013 on encouraging direct investment in addition to other measures including simplifying government transactions.
The 2025 World Governments Summit, which includes Thursday, had attracted 4,000 participants from world leaders, head of governments, experts and visionaries in addition to some 27 global organizations and entities. (end)
