Kuwait Affirms Commitment To AI Governance

PARIS, Feb 11 (KUNA) -- Representative of His Highness the Amir sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Minister of State for Communications Affairs Omar Al-Omar, affirmed that Kuwait's participation in the AI for Good Summit reflects its commitment in line with human values and ethical principles.
Al-Omar told KUNA that Kuwait believes in the importance of ensuring the safe use of AI, and establish data accountability.
He pointed out that the Summit focuses on AI in service of the public interest, facilitating work and innovation, the role of culture in AI, and the importance of AI governance on a global scale.
He added that Kuwait views AI as a key pillar for sustainable economic and social development, adding that it is working to create a legislative environment supportive of digitalization, developing production infrastructure, and empowering national talent in this vital field.
The Summit concluded by stressing the need for continued international dialogue to regulate AI responsibility, balancing innovation with safety while maximizing its social benefits and minimizing risks. (end)
