QIIB Participates In QNSD

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) QIIB participated in Qatar National Sport Day celebrations by taking part in events organised by the Qatar Central Bank.

This engagement underscores the bank's dedication to contributing to various initiatives that add value to Qatari society.

Sports, in particular, has positioned Qatar as a global hub and one of the leading sports capitals worldwide.

QIIB Chief Executive Officer Dr Abdulbasit Ahmad al-Shaibei and senior executives along with bank employees joined QCB's Sports Day activities and participated in a“Sports march” along Doha Corniche.

Dr al-Shaibei stated: "This day is an opportunity to reaffirm that sports are for everyone and represent a way of life filled with achievement and well-being."

He added: "National Sport Day is a moment to renew our collective commitment to serving and building our community in the best possible ways. It is our duty to keep pace with Qatar's remarkable advancement in sports, as the country has truly become a distinguished sports capital.

“This is evident not only in the world-class tournaments it hosts but also in the state-of-the-art facilities and widespread sporting culture across various regions, which has significantly contributed to promoting sports participation on a large scale."

The CEO highlighted QIIB's structured and ongoing support for Qatari sports, noting that the bank has signed a sponsorship agreement with the Qatar Football Association, making it the main sponsor of the Amir Cup and the National Teams for three years starting from February 2024.

This sponsorship aligns with the Third Financial Sector Strategy of the Qatar Central Bank, which emphasises environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles and the bank's role in serving the community in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
