Trump posts again article quoting Putin

(MENAFN) US President Donald trump shared an article on his Truth Social media account on Sunday, which referenced Russian President Vladimir Putin’s remarks about Trump’s potential to “restore order” in Europe. In the interview with Russia 1 journalist Pavel Zarubin, Putin expressed his belief that under Trump’s leadership, Washington’s allies would align with the US once again, despite opposition from some EU leaders.

Putin, highlighting Trump’s character and persistence, predicted that European nations would soon “stand at the master’s feet and gently wag their tails.” The comments were tied to Trump’s plans to reimpose tariffs, including 25% on steel and aluminum imports, a move similar to the one Trump made during his first term in 2018, citing national security concerns.

The post did not include any commentary from Trump himself, but French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot responded on Monday, warning of reciprocal measures if the US followed through on the tariff threats. Trump had previously imposed tariffs on imports from Mexico, Canada, and China, often citing national security and border control issues.
