Afghan Workers To Be Sent Abroad Legally, Says Omari

(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Mullah Abdul Manan Omari says his Ministry is striving to facilitate legal and dignified dispatching of Afghan workers to foreign countries.

He said this at a meeting with representatives, religious scholars, tribal elders and youth from 22 Police districts and 12 districts of capital Kabul in his office, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (MoLSA) wrote on its facebook page.

Omari said the primary goal of the meeting was to foster mutual understanding and seek joint solutions to existing challenges.

He explained the caretaker government could not deal with all issues without public cooperation.

He urged the people to share their problems with relevant authorities and officials should share their limitations with the public to establish mutual understanding.

"Going abroad is not the ultimate solution because an individual's dignity is best preserved in their own country. However, we are striving to ensure that those who go abroad do so through legal and dignified means."

Omari also stressed:“We can only win the hearts of the people if we correctly identify their problems and provide comprehensive and effective solutions. Without addressing their challenges, it is impossible to gain public support. Only by solving issues we can prevent despair among our people."

At the meeting, tribal leader Mullah Fazil Fazli highlighted that large-scale projects, such as water management and regulation, could significantly reduce unemployment in the country.

Ahmad Shah Alokozai, a representative of 22nd police district, also said the expansion of vocational trainings and legal dispatching of workers abroad could significantly reduce the unemployment rate.

At the end of the meeting, representatives from police districts and districts of the capital called unemployment one of the country's major issues.

They suggested mechanizing agriculture and organizing scientific seminars to address unemployment and create job opportunities, encouraging the cultivation, processing, and trade of agricultural products, expanding technical and vocational education to rural districts, providing facilities to industrialists and investors.
