Afrikaner Community Rejects Trump's Offer to Resettle in the US

(MENAFN) The Afrikaner community in South Africa has rejected US President Donald Trump’s offer to resettle as refugees in the United States, following claims of racial discrimination in the country. Kallie Kriel, the CEO of Afriforum, a group that advocates for Afrikaans speakers, stated at a media briefing in Pretoria that the Afrikaner community does not wish to leave South Africa. He emphasized their desire to remain in the country and preserve their culture for future generations. “We don’t want to move elsewhere, and we are not going to ask our children now to move to another country,” Kriel explained, further adding that they see a future in Africa and consider themselves indigenous to the land.

This response came after President Trump signed an executive order freezing US financial assistance to South Africa, citing concerns over the country's controversial land expropriation law and its legal case against Israel at the International Court of Justice.
