Katara International Arabian Horse Festival Accompanying Artistic Activities Conclude
Doha: The accompanying activities of the Katara International Arabian Horse Festival 2025 concluded yesterday on Katara Corniche, featuring the participation of an elite group of visual artists from Qatar and around the world. These activities provided a distinctive creative platform where visual arts merged with the beauty of Arabian horses, creating a scene that reflected rich cultural heritage with contemporary artistic touches.
The participating artists emphasised that the event was not merely a display of artworks but an interactive space to enhance cultural and artistic dialogue. Attendees had the opportunity to meet the artists directly and learn about various methods and techniques in mural painting and saddle art.
In the“Saddle Painting” event, Qatari artist Maryam Khalifa Al Sada showcased her exceptional talent with an artwork that combined realism and heritage. She painted Arabian horses surrounded by palm trees and Qatari farms, using oil colors to highlight intricate details in a style that reflected her unique skill in traditional art.
Qatari artist Hassan Jasoum expressed his delight at participating in the event for the second consecutive year. He introduced new techniques to his style, presenting an advanced piece that demonstrated technical development in leather painting. His work highlighted the details of the horse with greater maturity and professionalism.
The“Murals” event featured artworks by professional artists in diverse styles. Algerian artist Muammar Tazi depicted a century-old farm where horses roamed freely, surrounded by elements of Qatari heritage such as traditional farms and pigeon towers. His sophisticated use of acrylic paints captured the authenticity of the scene.
Meanwhile, Moroccan artist Ali Al Nazir presented a piece that combined Arabic calligraphy and Islamic decorations. His mural featured a noble hadith reflecting the values of Arab civilization and its scientific and cultural achievements, underscoring the importance of preserving Arab identity and heritage in contemporary art.
