Germany Ready To Contribute To Syria Reconstruction -- Scholz

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BERLIN, Feb 7 (KUNA) -- federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated, during a phone call with Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa on Friday, that Germany was ready to support the post-conflict reconstruction of Syria.
Germany supports a free Syria as a secure home for people from all walks of life, German government spokesperson Steffen Hebestreit said, citing readout of the conversation.
Both sides highlighted the importance of launching an all-inclusive Political process without any sectarian or religious considerations, the spokesperson added.
The civil war in Syrian had forced scores of people to flee to other countries since 2011.
Germany plays host to nearly one million Syrian refugees. (end)
