Kuwait's 17Th Humanitarian Planeload Takes Off To Syria

By Salman Al-Mutairi KUWAIT, Feb 3 (KUNA) -- The 17th relief planeload took off from Kuwait to Damascus International Airport on Monday, carrying 10 tons of foodstuff and shelter necessities as part of Kuwait's relief campaign: "Kuwait Is by Your Side".
The latest aid plane was organized by Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), in partnership with the ministries of social affairs, foreign affairs and defense, represented by the Kuwait Air Force.
Speaking to KUNA ahead of takeoff, KRCS Chairman Ambassador Khaled Al-Maghames underlined the great role of the State of Kuwait as a humanitarian hub under the direction of the political leadership.
He added that the charity keeps sending humanitarian and relief aid to the Syrian people, particularly foodstuff, medicine and shelter supplies, in collaboration and cooperation with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent.
He noted that his society always follows up on the humanitarian situation in Syria in order to determine the actual and urgent relief needs of the Syrian people, Kuwaiti humanitarian aid to Syria, through the recently launched air bridge, has now reached 489 tons of food, medicine and shelter supplies.
