(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukraine has received military aid from the United States worth more than $70 billion, but claims that U.S. support has amounted to $100–200 billion are inaccurate, President Volodymyr Zelensky said.
He stated this in an interview with The Associated Press, according to Ukrinform.
"As the president of a country at war, I can say that we have received more than $75 billion [in U.S. aid]. But the claims that Ukraine has received $100 billion out of the $177 billion total, or even $200 billion, as some say, are simply not true. This is important because we are talking about specifics -- we did not receive this aid in cash but in weapons. The total value of the weapons we received is just over $70 billion," Zelensky said.
He added that the U.S. has provided a variety of aid, including humanitarian and social programs, as well as training and education. However, he stressed that the claim that Ukraine has received $200 billion specifically for its military is misleading.

While expressing gratitude for the support, Zelensky said that the figures of $75–76 billion and $200 billion are not comparable. He also noted that there has been additional aid in the humanitarian sector, such as support for Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
Zelensky said that energy sector aid amounted to $200 million, while healthcare-related assistance was around $100 million.
"These $300–400 million were allocated to state programs, but we will cover these needs either with European partners or through domestic resources," he said.
Zelensky also highlighted the importance of veteran support programs, which require continued backing during wartime. However, he clarified that these were direct grants to specific organizations from U.S. entities, not funds allocated to Ukraine's state budget.
"This was not money received by our budget; rather, it was direct assistance to these organizations from American institutions," he said.
Additionally, Zelensky said that there are numerous other humanitarian programs to which the Ukrainian government has no direct connection.
Earlier reports said that U.S. President Donald Trump's administration had paused foreign assistance under the USAID program for 90 days.
