Peace On Pakhtun Land Bartered For Dollars: ANP

PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): The Awami National Party (ANP) has accused the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government of bartering peace on the Pakhtun land for US dollars.

Addressing a party event in Peshawar on Saturday, Aimal Wali said the“trade-off” had inflicted immense suffering on Pakhtuns on both sides of the Durand Line.

The ANP central president said the masses - the main victims of the scourge - neither supported talks with militants nor military operations against them.

The KP government had lost its writ in more than half of the province, he claimed, linking the security crisis to the release of more than 100 dreaded militants by the former rulers.

In an effort to restore its writ, the government had to fight against the same people again it had set free, he added.

Since Pakistan had fenced the Durand Line, the ANP leader asked, how it could claim militants were sneaking into the country from Afghanistan.
