Government To Boost Tourism With Infrastructure, Skill Development, And Streamlined E-Visa: Budget 2025
This initiative will be carried out in partnership with state governments through a challenge mode. To facilitate the creation of essential infrastructure, states will be responsible for providing the necessary land.
Additionally, hotels located in these destinations will be included in the Infrastructure HML (Hotel Management List).
To foster employment-led growth, several measures will be implemented. These include organizing intensive skill development programmes for youth, particularly through Institutes of Hospitality Management.
The government will also offer MUDRA loans to promote homestays as part of expanding tourism opportunities. Efforts will be made to improve ease of travel and connectivity to key tourist destinations.
Furthermore, states will be incentivized with performance-linked rewards for effective destination management, which will cover tourist amenities, cleanliness, and marketing.
To simplify the process for international visitors, streamlined e-visa facilities will be introduced, along with visa-fee waivers for specific tourist groups.
Continuing the focus on spiritual and religious tourism from the July Budget, particular attention will be given to destinations related to the life and teachings of Lord Buddha.
This special focus aims to promote these significant sites and enhance their global appeal.
