Türkiye sends shipments to Gaza that carry essential foodstuffs

(MENAFN) The UN World Food Program (WFP) declared on Wednesday that it has obtained more that half-billion dollars’ worth of food and logistics services from Türkiye in the previous two years to assist millions in crisis areas such as Palestine, confronting more than 14 months of an Israeli attack, and Sudan, dealing with a devastating civil war.

as the WFP announced, Türkiye has played a crucial role as a supply and logistics base for WFP operations, not letting the rapid delivery of assistance to areas affected by was and food insecurity.

This cooperation has been mainly crucial for current shipments to the conflict ripped Gaza Strip.

The diversity and high quality of foodstuffs obtained from Türkiye have been helpful in giving effective and nutritious food assistance. Just in the last week, about 1 million tons of important foodstuffs, including 1,500 tons of hot meals, have been sent from Türkiye to Gaza.
These shipments were cautiously coordinated to make sure they go to those in need as rapidly and efficiently as possible.
