Moscow: The organizers of AI Journey , an international conference on artificial intelligence (AI) scheduled for December 11–13, are sharing a preview of the preliminary program posted on the conference website. This year, the event is welcoming AI researchers and experts from Russia, China, India, UAE, South Africa, Indonesia, Bahrain, Iran and other countries as speakers.

“AI Journey annually grabs the attention of millions of people around the world. This year, we seek to reveal a new facet of the significance and benefits of AI for business, science, society, and sustainability. Artificial intelligence is becoming a powerful tool in the hands of humans, capable of expanding the horizons of what they can do, helping to overcome the borders between countries. What is the right way to use this technology? We will examine the most successful AI practices and case studies together with leading Russian and international experts from BRICS and other countries. I invite everyone to join our journey into the world of artificial intelligence!”

The program of the first day of the conference will focus on the opportunities that artificial intelligence offers to humans and its impact on the planet, speaking more generally. The day will open with an ESG podcast, as experts discuss how AI facilitates sustainable development and how it should change the landscape of future professions. Then, recognized global AI experts from BRICS+ countries, business and government representatives will take part in a plenary discussion on the role of AI for the well-being of individuals and society, moderated by Herman Gref , CEO and chairman of the Sberbank Executive Board. This big talk will highlight the importance of international cooperation in technology, the results of AI initiatives to date, and forecasts on promising designs benefiting specific countries and the global community alike.

The second day's program will focus on the use of artificial intelligence in industries and businesses. Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Maxim Oreshkin and First Deputy Chairman of the Sberbank Executive Board Alexander Vedyakhin will open the day to be followed by Senior Vice President, Head of Technological Development at Sberbank Andrey Belevtsev , who will talk about how artificial intelligence is becoming an indispensable human assistant and will announce plans to develop the available technological services and launch new ones. Then, Jaspreet Bindra from Tech Whisperer Limited, a global expert in AI, will talk about“Artificial Intelligence: Future Outside ChatGPT”; Aisha Bin Bishr from Smart Dubai Office will talk about“Smart Cities, Artificial Intelligence in Urban Development, Digital Transformation”; Tapiwa Chiwewe from Omnien will talk about“AI and ESG: Finding the Intersection for a Sustainable Future” on the symbiotic relationship between AI and ESG. TAIR Labs CEO Janet Sawari from South Africa will discuss how artificial intelligence is being used to address pressing challenges in areas ranging from education and healthcare to agriculture. The program will also feature many presentations by speakers from technology companies that are partners of the conference. The National Award recipients for their contributions to the advancement of artificial intelligence, known as AI Leaders, will be recognized at the conclusion of the program.

The third day , dedicated to AI in science, will be opened by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko and Senior Vice President, Head of Technological Development at Sberbank Andrey Belevtsev , who will then participate in a session summarizing four years of AI development by leading Russian research centers. On December 13, the audience will be mainly focused on presentations made by researchers, including one by Swagatam Das of the Indian Statistical Institute, who will talk on“A Scientific Approach: Building Understandable, Fair and Transparent AI for the Future.” Gonzalo Ferrer Minguez from Skoltech will deep-dive the audience into Embodied AI, one of the fastest growing technology, by talking about robot navigation. Dedi Darwis from the Indonesian Institute of Technology will cover the more specific topic of AI-driven image shorthand for secure data transmission across Internet of Things (IoT) systems. Other leading Russian and international researchers will speak about cutting-edge research in generative artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, cybersecurity, education, and medicine.

The Science day will also feature a special AIJ Junior track, where the topic of artificial intelligence will be presented from various angles to the youngest researchers. Speakers from Sber, MIPT, EXMO, and National Research University Higher School of Economics will talk about the use of AI to aid learning, self-development, reading, creativity, and will touch upon other applied topics relevant to the track's audience.

The AI Journey Conference in Moscow completes the series of events that have been taking place throughout the year. The winners of the AI Challenge for young data scientists and the AIJ Contest for experienced AI specialists will be awarded on stage. Additionally, AI Journey will unveil the results of AIJ Science's open selection of scientific articles. The most significant papers will be included in the scientific journal published jointly with the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the best paper will receive a monetary award.
