Non-oil shipments to Iraq rise by 36 percent


(MENAFN) Abdolamir Rabihaavi, TPO’s director-general for West Asia, said that informal figures represent an exra USD1.0 billion in shipments to Iraq throughout the previous month, bringing the overall non-oil shipments to the nearing nation to USD8.2 billion so far in 2024.

“With the current trajectory, we anticipate that Iran’s exports to Iraq will hit an unprecedented $11 billion by the end of the year,” Rabihaavi stated.

Rabihaavi highlighted that Iraq is considered among the major markets for Iranian products with high-added value.

Building materials, involving several kinds of steel profiles, ceramic tiles, food goods, chemical and petrochemical products, as well as plastic goods were the major items shipped to Iraq in the stated period.

The increase in trade represents deepened economic relations among both nations, with Iraq being a key destination for Iran's widespread non-oil shipment portfolio.
