Four Palestinian pass away in Israeli attack close to Jenin in occupied West Bank

(MENAFN) At least four Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike in the occupied West Bank, as confirmed by local authorities. The attack took place in the village of Sir, near Jenin, on Sunday. The Palestinian Ministry of Health stated that the killings were a direct result of "the occupation’s aggression." In response, Israel's military acknowledged the deaths, labeling the Palestinians as "terrorists," though further details about the victims were not immediately provided.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society reported that Israeli forces were preventing medical teams from reaching the bombing site. The organization expressed concern over the delays in providing necessary aid to those affected. In the wake of the attack, residents of the village were left in a state of shock, as the assault had caused widespread panic and fear in the community.

Fares Irshaid, a local resident, described the sequence of events, stating that Israeli planes began bombing the area early in the morning. Shortly afterward, Israeli forces stormed the village and declared it a closed military zone, preventing anyone from entering or leaving. This move added to the tension, as residents were left unable to assist the victims or seek help from emergency services.

Irshaid further revealed that a group of young men, including his nephew and the son of a neighbor, were caught in the attack. The fate of these individuals remains unclear, and their families are still waiting for information. Despite confirming the identity of one victim, 31-year-old Wael Lahluh, Israel has not released the bodies of those killed, deepening the uncertainty surrounding the attack.
