Azerbaijan fashion Week will once again open its doors, turning
Baku into the epicentre of fashion and creativity,
Azernews reports. The fashion show will take place
at Baku International Sea port on December 8-9.
The 17th season promises to be a vibrant event, bringing
together talented designers, ambitious ideas, and intercultural
dialogue. The runway will showcase not just collections but bold
manifestos reflecting the unique philosophy of Azerbaijani and
global fashion.
The event is supported by the Center for the Development of
Cultural and Creative Industries YARADICI, with the famous Hello!
magazine as the official media partner for the 17th season. For
over 80 years Hello! has been a leading international brand
reporting on celebrities, cultural milestones, and iconic fashion
events.
Azerbaijan Fashion Week is more than just a series of shows. It
is a platform where fashion becomes art and a voice for change. The
goals of the project are ambitious:
To support young designers and promote the "Made in Azerbaijan"
brand on an international stage.
To highlight sustainable development through fashion by
encouraging the use of recycled materials, eco-friendly collections
and conscious consumption.
To preserve cultural traditions while reimagining them through
modern design.
This season promises a rich program with the participation of
international bloggers, journalists, industry professionals, buyers
and designers. Renowned designers from Azerbaijan, South Korea,
Georgia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan will present
their collections. Each show will serve as a dialogue between
tradition and innovation: Eastern motifs, daring silhouettes, and
refined craftsmanship that will captivate even the most discerning
audiences.
The official face and ambassador of the 17th season of AFW 2024
is Via Lemann, a top model who has graced the runways of Paris
Haute Couture Week and Milan Fashion Week. Her career and
creativity perfectly embody the values of Azerbaijan Fashion Week:
style, elegance, and innovation.
The 17th season is not only dedicated to fashion but also to
global themes. AFW continues the dialogue initiated at COP 29,
addressing issues of ecology, sustainable production, and cultural
diversity, themes reflected in every show.
In this context, on December 9, the runway will host the
collections of the winners of the "Up-Cycle Jeans" competition,
held in May 2024. This competition, aimed at promoting
eco-conscious fashion, offered young talents a unique opportunity
to showcase their creations made from recycled materials. The
winners received valuable prizes, including the chance to present
their collections on the runway of the 17th season of Azerbaijan
Fashion Week and support in developing their first capsule
collections.
Fashion as art, fashion as philosophy, fashion as a bridge
between past and future – all of this will find its expression in
the 17th season of Azerbaijan Fashion Week.
Media partners of the event are Azernews, Trend, Day,
and Milli
