Egypt, Qatar Urge Int'l Community To End Humanitarian Catastrophe In Gaza

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, Nov 27 (KUNA) -- Egypt and Qatar urged the international community to assume responsibility for ending the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip and taking serious steps to provide the necessary humanitarian support to the Palestinian people and alleviate their suffering.
This came in a meeting Wednesday between Egyptian President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi and Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad bin Abdulrahman, said Egyptian Presidency spokesman Ambassador Mohammad Al-Shannawi in a statement.
The meeting discussed joint efforts aimed at stopping the fire in Gaza, releasing the hostages, and allowing unconditional access to humanitarian and relief aid to the Strip, the statement added.
The statement also noted that the two sides stressed the importance of concerted efforts to support the Palestinian people and preserve their legitimate rights to establish their independent, sovereign state by international legitimacy resolutions, and to ensure the preservation of the Palestinian national interest.
