Spanish Prime Minister seeks international mobilization for peace

(MENAFN) Former Spanish Premier Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero on Tuesday asked for an immediate international mobilization for peace.
Giving a speech at the 10th UN Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) Global Forum in Portugal, Zapatero emphasized the worsening state of international wars, highlighting the increasing massacre in Gaza, Ukraine, as well as Africa.
"The Alliance of Civilizations must be an Alliance of Civilizations for peace. And Mr. Secretary-General (Antonio Guterres), someone must initiate a global social mobilization for peace in favor of an international community that is about to be destroyed, broken, and shattered in its capacity for dialogue," he stated.
Zapatero labelled the UN Alliance of Civilizations as an instrument for encouraging peace and asked civil society to enforce governments into finishing wars.
Condemning the human toll of war, he censured the harsh consume of bombs, drones, and weapons that take innocent lives.
