COP29 In Azerbaijan Features Panel Session On Human Capital Development


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 18. The joint panel session of COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company and COP29's synergy partner NEQSOL Holding was held in the Green Zone of COP29, Trend reports.

The panel discussion moderated by KPMG Global Decarbonization Center Manager Avery Johnston was attended by Tarja Kaarina Halonen, 11th President of Finland (2000-2012), Fariz Ismailzadeh, Director of the Institute of Development and Diplomacy, Vice-Rector of ADA University, MP, Maria Osbek, UNICEF Regional Advisor on Climate Change in Europe and Central Asia, and Imran Ahmedzade, Head of NEQSOL Holding Azerbaijan.

In their speeches, the panelists noted that various new challenges arise as a result of climate change, so it is important for the next generation to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills, as well as ecological thinking, to promote innovative solutions and support sustainable economies. It was noted that by focusing on education and capacity-building, youth can be prepared to contribute to a sustainable future and become leaders in the transition to green development.

The panelists discussed strategies to promote cooperation between governments, organizations, and the private sector to promote green skills, create a green economy, and increase sustainable and inclusive human capital.
Along with this event organized by Azerbaijan Operating Company COP29 together with NEQSOL Holding, various events organized by other local and foreign companies and institutions were held throughout the day in the Green Zone of COP29. At these events, views were exchanged on topics such as strategies to promote sustainability in higher education institutions, the impact of climate change on human capital, the creation of environmentally sustainable jobs, the exchange of experience between financial institutions and real sector companies on addressing climate challenges, and the impact of climate change on mental and physical health.
