COP29 Necessitates To Shape Positive Image Of Azerbaijan - Analyst

(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 31. COP29 is important to be used for shaping a positive image of Azerbaijan, political analyst and communication strategist at Economyfirst Limited London, Klaus Jurgens said during a training session for journalists at ADA University ahead of COP29 in Baku today, Trend reports.

“Conducting training workshops for journalists before such events is a wonderful initiative. As far as I know, this is already the third training of its kind, and I am very glad to be here. We all learn from each other. COP29 is a significant event for Azerbaijan, and it requires coverage in both national and international media,” he said.

According to him, it's also vital to spread the word about why the matter of climate change is such a big deal.

In under two weeks, Azerbaijan will host COP29. This decision was made at the COP28 plenary meeting held in Dubai on December 11 last year.

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change is an agreement signed at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro in June 1992 to prevent dangerous human interference with the climate system. COP-the Conference of the Parties-is the highest legislative body overseeing the implementation of the Framework Convention on Climate Change. There are 198 countries that are parties to the Convention. Unless the parties agree otherwise, the COP is held annually. The first COP event took place in March 1995 in Germany's Berlin with its secretariat in Bonn.
