(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 24. International oil and gas companies have expressed interest in deepening partnership with Turkmenistan, Trend reports.

The issue was discussed during a meeting between representatives of Turkmenistan and delegations of leading international companies, including Petronas, Lukoil, and KazMunayGas JSC, who emphasized the country's potential as one of the key players in the global energy market on the sidelines of the first session of the OGT (Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan) 2024 Forum held in Ashgabat.

The meeting also discussed key areas of interaction, including opportunities for investment and the introduction of new technologies in the energy industry of Turkmenistan.

The country prioritized issues of sustainable development and the transition to renewable energy sources.

To note, the OGT 2024 forum serves as an international platform, which brings together leading national and international oil and gas companies, industry experts, and financial institutions. The main goal of the event is to strengthen the dialogue on the sustainable development of the energy sector and attract investments into Turkmenistan's oil and gas industry.

The forum will discuss the prospects for developing fields, modernizing processing facilities, implementing advanced technologies, and addressing the environmental aspects of hydrocarbon extraction.
