ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 21. Kazakhstan's
largest uranium mining company, Kazatomprom, has signed a strategic
agreement with Siemens to localize the production of advanced
measuring equipment and industrial automation tools in the country,
Trend reports.
Under this agreement, Siemens and KAP technology LLP, a
subsidiary of Kazatomprom, plan to establish a joint production
facility in Turkistan.
This facility will focus on producing high-precision equipment
such as electromagnetic flow meters, automation cabinets, frequency
converters, and pressure sensors, which are crucial for advanced
industrial processes.
Kazatomprom Chairman Meirzhan Yusupov commented, "This project
aligns with our goal of increasing domestic procurement and
strengthening the import substitution framework outlined by the
Head of State. Through our Local Project Office for import
substitution, we support local producers and evaluate potential new
projects. Collaborating with Siemens will elevate the automation
and digitalization of our operations, making our facilities more
competitive globally."
This project is part of a larger strategic plan under the
Samruk-Kazyna Fund. During the Kazakhstan-Germany Business Forum in
September, the Fund signed an agreement with Siemens on the
localization of production in Kazakhstan, the establishment of
joint ventures, and the training of local personnel. This
collaboration is set to enhance Kazakhstan's technological capacity
and contribute significantly to its economic growth.
