ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 10.
Turkmenistan attaches special importance to the development of
trade and economic ties with Kazakhstan and aims to continue joint
activities, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov
said at the talks in a limited format with President Kassym-Jomart
Tokayev, Trend reports via the press service of the Kazakh
President.
“We attach special importance to the development of trade and
economic ties between our countries. We aim to continue our joint
activities in such important areas as energy, transportation,
trade, agriculture, and high technologies. Cultural and
humanitarian ties are also of great importance in the relations
between our countries,” Serdar Berdimuhamedov said.
President Tokayev, in turn, reaffirmed Kazakhstan's commitment
to partnership with the neighboring country.
“Turkmenistan is a very close country for us, a natural
strategic partner. I would like to note that Kazakhstan has been
and remains a reliable ally of Turkmenistan on all issues that you
mentioned, whether it is energy, transportation, logistics,
cultural, or humanitarian interaction,” the head of state
noted.
Furthermore, the leaders paid special attention to interaction
within the UN and other international organizations. They
reaffirmed the commitment to work together to promote peace
initiatives and strengthen regional security through multilateral
platforms, emphasizing the importance of coordination of actions in
international structures.
The sides reiterated their intention to continue strengthening
friendly relations between the countries and expand interaction at
all levels.
To note, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is on an official visit
to Ashgabat to participate in the forum“Interconnection of Times
and Civilizations - Basis of Peace and Development” to be held on
October 11.
The forum will be a platform for international dialog, where
participants will be able to discuss current global political,
economic, and humanitarian problems, as well as express their views
on the development of international relations. Heads of Central
Asian states and other countries are expected to participate in the
event.
