JABRAYIL, Azerbaijan, October 5. Study at a
Mehdi Mehdizade Secondary School in Jabrayil city will launch on
October 8, Head of Azerbaijan's Eastern Zangezur Regional Education
Department Fuad Badalov told Trend .
According to him, the school covers an area of 2.7 hectares.
"The 960-seat school includes 40 classrooms and 5 administrative
offices.
The educational institution also features laboratories for
chemistry, physics, and biology, as well as technology and computer
rooms, four STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math)
rooms, a library, an assembly hall, a sports hall, and a
canteen.
The classrooms are equipped with the necessary teaching
materials to ensure high-level learning by the students. The
inventory and other essential equipment in the school meet modern
standards. The formation of the teaching staff has already been
completed, with the entire faculty comprised of those who have
relocated to Jabrayil.
From September 26 to date, 122 students have been enrolled. By
the end of the year, this number is expected to reach 400," he
added.
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First
Lady Mehriban Aliyeva participated in the opening ceremony of the
mentioned school on October 3.
In 2021, the President of Azerbaijan signed a decree on the
design and construction of a school building in Jabrayil city in
accordance with the“I State Program of the Great Return to the
territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan liberated from
occupation”.
The foundation of this educational institution was laid by
President Ilham Aliyev on October 4, 2021.
As a result of the nearly 30 years of military aggression by
Armenia against Azerbaijan, the educational infrastructure in the
occupied territories was completely destroyed. In accordance with
the relevant orders and directives from President Ilham Aliyev,
significant work is underway to restore the educational
infrastructure in the liberated areas following the above-mentioned
state program. According to the action plan, the Ministry of
Science and Education has been tasked with preparing proposals for
the construction and restoration of educational institutions in
these areas from 2022 through 2026, in accordance with territorial
planning documents.
