Kazakhstan To Participate In UN General Assembly Session


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 21. The delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu will take part in the 79th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) in New York from September 22 through 28, 2024, Trend reports referring to Kazakhstan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In the framework of the visit, the head of the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan is scheduled to address the“Summit of the Future” and the general debate of the 79th session of the UNGA. In addition, the Kazakh delegation plans to take part in thematic events of the UNGA in the fields of economy, trade, finance, environment, health care, regional security, etc.

Furthermore, on the margins of the General Assembly, there will be meetings of foreign ministers of the OTS, ECO, ECO-ASEAN, CSTO, and C5+1 Dialogue, as well as the annual ministerial meeting of the UN Member States of the Group of Landlocked Developing Countries.

In addition, Minister Murat Nurtleu will hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from other countries and heads of international organizations.

The 79th session of the UN General Assembly opened on September 10. The UNGA high-level general political debates, which are expected to be attended by dozens of ministers and heads of government, will be held from September 24 through 28 and on September 30.
