ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 17.
Cooperation between Central Asia and Germany can better the
situation in the region and surrounding areas, President of
Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov said at the Central Asia –
Germany summit in Astana today, Trend reports via the official Turkmen
media.
"In the current conditions, closer policy and diplomatic
interaction between the countries of Central Asia and Germany can
have a noticeable constructive impact on the general situation in
the region and in the adjacent zones," he explained.
Berdimuhamedov highlighted the importance of international
cooperation for ensuring peace and stability in the region.
"We should engage the efforts of the global community, primarily
through the UN. We are guided by the shared vision of our
countries' leadership to see Central Asia as a peaceful, calm,
economically attractive region, a space of stability and
predictability. For Turkmenistan, as a neutral and peace-loving
state, this approach holds fundamental importance," added the head
of state.
To note, the second Central Asia - Germany (5+1) summit is
taking place in Astana with the participation of the Turkmen

constructive international dialogue, reaffirming its role in
expanding multilateral cooperation. The summit is also attended by
