Azerbaijan's Karabakh University To Increase Number Of Students - Minister


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) SHUSHA, Azerbaijan, September 16. The number of students at Karabakh University will increase in the coming years, Azerbaijani Science and Education Minister Emin Amrullayev told Trend.

According to him, 1200 students will start studying at Karabakh University, 150 teachers will lecture them, and the number of students will increase in the coming years.

The Minister noted that after liberation from occupation, construction of schools has started in almost all major cities of these regions.

“We opened a school in Shusha; a little later we will drive to Khojaly. Soon, schools will be commissioned in the town of Khankendi, as well as in the town of Jabrayil. In general, construction works are currently underway in 30 schools,” Amrullayev added.

To note, the 2024-2025 school year starts in Azerbaijan on September 16. In the new academic year, the first lesson in general education institutions was dedicated to the theme“Solidarity for a 'green' world”. A total of 132,261 children were enrolled in first grades in the 2024-2025 school year, and 89,000 children were enrolled in preparatory groups.

Furthermore, 513,698 students will study in the new academic year in general educational institutions subordinated to the Baku City Education Department. The number of pupils will be 46,098 in first grade, 44,233 in ninth grade, 35,757 in tenth grade, 32,260 in eleventh grade, and 156 in twelfth grade.
