Transparency Lies Behind Parliamentary Election In Azerbaijan - Moroccan MP (PHOTO)

The parliamentary election in Azerbaijan has been held transparently, the first Deputy Chairperson of the House of Representatives of the Moroccan Parliament, Mohamed Sabbari, said at a press conference on the results of the September 1 extraordinary parliamentary election, Trend reports.

“Relations between Azerbaijan and Morocco are built on the foundation of friendship and brotherhood. Development between the two countries continues in all fields. It was an honor for us to observe the parliamentary election. Moroccan representatives visited several polling stations, observed the process, and the election was transparent,” he said.

According to him, all the rules were adhered to for the successful holding of the parliamentary election.

“Voters' names were strictly checked, and the voting process was monitored. All polling stations also provided conditions for candidate representatives. We talked to them, and the representatives were satisfied with the whole process. I congratulate the Azerbaijani people on this democratic holiday. There was a moment in the history of Azerbaijan that distinguished this election. It was related to the fact that the election was held in the whole territory of Azerbaijan, in liberated Karabakh. I congratulate the Azerbaijani people on this,” he added.

To note, an extraordinary parliamentary election was held in Azerbaijan on September 1.

According to preliminary data , voter turnout at the elections amounted to 37.27 percent. The number of voters casting their ballots amounted to 2,196,771. A total of 5,895 polling stations submitted their protocols to the CEC.

A total of 112,749 domestic observers were registered to observe the election. More than 65,000 of them were representatives of political parties.

The number of registered international observers was 598, representing 51 organizations in 69 countries.

Out of 990 registered candidates in the parliamentary elections, 305 are representatives of 25 political parties. Whereas 371 candidates are members of political parties, they were not nominated by the parties to which they belong. A total of 676 candidates have political party affiliation.
