Number Of Foreign Tourists Visiting Uzbekistan Grows


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 1. The number of foreign tourists visiting Uzbekistan amounted to 4.2 million from January through July 2024, Trend reports.

According to the data from Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency, this indicator increased by 15.3 percent (562,500 people) compared to the same period last year.

Amongst all the countries, Kyrgyzstan took the cake for having the lion's share of tourists who flocked to Uzbekistan during this period - a whopping 1.2 million people. Tajikistan came in second with 1.2 people, followed by Kazakhstan (845,800 people), Russia (442,100 people), and Turkmenistan (83,700 people).

The citizens of Türkiye (62,000 people), China (35,500 people), India (33,300 people), South Korea (23,900 people), and Italy (19,500 people) also visited Uzbekistan during this period.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan will establish a new tourist brand by October 1, 2024.

The new brand will help promote Uzbekistan's tourism products in international and domestic markets and strengthen the reputation of a safe country for travelers.
