When Gina Gershon Nearly 'Broke' Tom Cruise's Nose During 'Cocktail' Shoot

(MENAFN- IANS) Los Angeles, Aug 8 (IANS) actress Gina Gershon, who worked with hollywood icon Tom cruise in the 1988 film 'Cocktail', has shared that during a sex scene for the film, she accidentally hit her co-star on the nose with her knee.

Tom Cruise nearly suffered a bizarre injury because of her sudden reflex, reports 'People' magazine.

During an appearance on 'Watch What Happens Live on Wednesday', Gina revealed she nearly "broke" her co-star's nose during the shoot.

After being questioned by a viewer on whether she and Cruise ever hooked up in real life, Gershon (62) insisted they didn't, but said that she shot her "first love scene ever" with the 'Mission Impossible' star.

Gershon told host Andy Cohen and fellow guest Cate Blanchett that Cruise "totally" took care of her on the sets, but admitted that there was a moment when she couldn't say the same about her taking care of him.

“At one point, he starts off under the covers, and I told him I was very ticklish, I said 'No, no, don't ever do that'," Gershon recalled of filming a love scene for the movie, where she starred as Coral alongside Cruise's Brian Flanagan.

She added,“In one take I have to say... I think he wanted a reaction, he grabbed my stomach and I kneed him right in the nose. I was like, 'Oh, my god, I just broke Tom Cruise's nose'. He's like 'No, no you told me'. I was like 'I'm so sorry', he was like 'No, it was my fault'. He was so protective over me. He was great."

After being asked whether she hooked up with Cruise, Gershon insisted, "Oh my God, do you think I would actually answer that?"

She added that his wife at the time, Mimi Rogers, "was very present", and made sure to introduce herself.

"We did kiss as much as we could," she admitted of filming the romantic scenes.

'Cocktail' (1988), a romantic comedy-drama directed by Roger Donaldson based on the book by the same name by Heywood Gould, also starred Bryan Brown, and Elisabeth Shue in key roles.

It tells the story of a business student who takes up bartending to make ends meet.
