1936 -- State of Kuwait established its first educational council to devise a national teaching policy.
1944 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah signed the country's first law regulating the health sector.
1984 -- Popular Kuwaiti singer Ouda Al-Muhanna, a folkloric icon in Kuwait and the Gulf, died at the age of 85.
2003 -- Kuwait Cinema Company opened three state-of-art theatres at Marina Mall in Salmiya.
2007 -- Kuwait Deputy Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah signed a law, which allowed the launch of private audio-visual broadcasting stations, which should abide by the law and public order.
