Belgian Firms See Turkey as Key Part of European Value Chains
(MENAFN) Belgian companies consider Türkiye to be closely integrated into European economic value chains, according to Belgium’s ambassador to Ankara, ahead of a major upcoming trade mission led by Queen Mathilde, as reported.
Ambassador Hendrik Van de Velde said that Turkish and European value chains are “fully integrated,” noting that more than half of Türkiye’s economy is connected to European markets.
His remarks come ahead of the Belgian Economic Mission to Türkiye, scheduled for May 10–14, with planned engagements in both Istanbul and Ankara.
The delegation, which will be led by Queen Mathilde, is expected to include around 450 participants, among them approximately 250 business executives.
The mission is set to focus on key sectors including pharmaceuticals, logistics, sustainable energy, digital transformation, and cooperation in defense and aviation industries.
Belgian officials also anticipate potential agreements in areas such as air transport, social security, agriculture, and healthcare during the visit, according to reports.
