General Staff Confirms Attack On Polyova Oil Depot In Kursk Region Of Russia


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The Ukrainian Defence Forces have struck at the Polyova oil depot in Kursk region, which is used to meet the needs of the Russian armed forces.

This was reported by the General Staff of the armed forces of Ukraine on facebook , Ukrinform reports.

"Last night, a strike was carried out on the Polyova oil depot in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation . According to intelligence, enemy air defence systems were operating in the area of the facility. Subsequently, powerful explosions and a fire were recorded, probably involving containers with oil products... The task was carried out as part of a unified plan by the forces and means of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU A) in cooperation with other components of the Defence Forces," the statement said.

The General Staff informed that the Polyova oil depot consists of 11 tanks with a total volume of 7,000 cubic metres and is used, in particular, to meet the needs of the Russian Armed Forces.

In addition, there is information about powerful explosions near a power substation in the Kursk region.

Detailed information on the consequences of the damage to both facilities is being clarified, the General Staff added.

"The Defence Forces continue to take all measures to undermine the military and economic potential of the Russian occupiers and force Russia to stop its armed aggression against Ukraine," the Armed Forces stressed.

As reported, on the night of 28 July, explosions occurred in the Kursk region of Russia as a result of a drone attack. Fires broke out in several areas, including an oil depot.
