Security Council Discusses Humanitarian Situation In Gaza

New York, July 26 (Petra)-- At the request of Algeria, China, and Russia, the UN Security Council will convene a briefing session today, Friday, to address "the situation in the Middle East, including the question of Palestine" and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Members will hear briefings from Muhannad Hadi, the Special Coordinator, Humanitarian Affairs Coordinator, and Resident Coordinator of the Office of the United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, as well as from Philippe Lazzarini, the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
