Government Reduces Fiscal Deficit Projection To 4.9% Of GDP In Latest Budget

(MENAFN- KNN India) New Delhi, Jul 23 (KNN) In her latest budget presentation, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman revealed that the government has adjusted its fiscal deficit projection for the current financial year.

The revised estimate stands at 4.9 per cent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), marking a reduction from the 5.1 per cent figure outlined in the interim budget.

The fiscal deficit, which represents the gap between the government's total spending and its revenue, is a key indicator of the country's financial health.

The reduction in the projected deficit suggests a potential combination of increased revenue collection and controlled expenditure.
