Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan Sign Agreement On Ski Resort Construction


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, July 18. Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan have signed a memorandum of cooperation for the construction of the Chatkal Ski Recreational Resort in the Jalal-Abad region of Kyrgyzstan, Trend reports.

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan announced that the document for implementation of this investment project was signed between the Department of tourism under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan and the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan following a business forum.

The cooperation will cover the following areas:

- Facilitating cooperation between government bodies, local authorities, and other stakeholders in implementing the project and enhancing sustainable tourism development in both countries.

- Promoting the sustainable development of local economies.

- Attracting tourist flows to both countries.

- Facilitating investment in the tourism sectors of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan with bilateral and comprehensive support for investment attraction.

- Promoting the exchange of experience and knowledge within the framework of the project.

- Facilitating the exchange of expertise with professionals in the field of ski recreational resorts to ensure the successful implementation of the project.

- Promoting the tourism opportunities of the resorts in both countries.

The project is expected to be implemented between 2024 and 2028.

To note, more than 200 entrepreneurs from both countries participated in the Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan business forum in Tashkent.
