On Sunday, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the capture of Chigari, a small settlement located just northwest of Gorlovka in the Donetsk People's Republic. This area, heavily damaged over years of conflict, had served as a base for Ukrainian forces launching artillery and missile strikes against Gorlovka.

Fighting remains active in New York (also known as Novgorodskoye), situated to the west of Gorlovka. Reports indicate that Russian troops have successfully breached Ukrainian defenses in the area, advancing from the south and gaining partial control of the village.
