Amman, July 8 (Petra) -- Tourism Minister Makram Qaisi Monday met in Amman delegates from Rwanda and a group of tourist offices, businesses and representatives of the medical, therapeutic and educational sectors.
The delegation, hosted by the Tourism Promotion Authority, comprised clerics, journalists and media people, and they are set for a tour around the Kingdom.
The meeting came as a follow-up to Qaisi's visit in February to Africa: Kenya, Rwanda, and Ethiopia. The visit aimed to open new markets, especially after the decline in the number of tourists from Western countries in the wake of the Israeli war on Gaza.
Qaisi said, "I am thrilled with this step, which is considered a success for the official Jordanian visit to Rwanda. It is considered an important step in the journey of relations between the two countries, especially after the visit of His Majesty King Abdullah II to the Rwandan capital Kigali at the beginning of this year."
The meeting is Qaisi's second since the beginning of June after meeting with the Kenyan delegation.
