HAS General Council Holds Meeting In Hajin


(MENAFN- Kashmir Observer) Hajin- The General Council of Halqua e Adab Sonawari (HAS), the oldest literary organization in Kashmir, met on Sunday to deliberate on the organization's activities and upcoming events. Members discussed various matters pertaining to the literary body and unanimously decided on hosting a grand two-day literary function in the month of August under the theme“Yom e Aslaaf” (Day of Literary Stalwarts from Hajin). It was decided that in the proposed conference papers would be presented on Prof Mohiuddin Hajin, Mohammad Ahsan Ahsan and Dr Aziz Hajini besides, Khilat e Hajini and Aziz Hajini Gold Medal would also be presented to the deserving and meritorious personalities during the event.

The meeting commenced with a recitation of the Quran by Shabir Maqbool, setting a spiritual tone for the proceedings. Dr. Ali Mohammed Nishtar, a senior member of HAS, presented his latest essay titled“Lafz,” which sparked engaging discussions among the attendees. Sahitya Akademi Awardee Abdul Ahad Hajini, Prof. Amin Fayaz, Nissar ul Kareem, Sheikh Ghulam Mohammad, Haji Ghulam Nabi Dar, Farooq Ahmad Parray, Shahbaz Hakabari, and other esteemed and members of HAS took part in the fruitful discussion on Dr Nishtar's Essay.

The General Council of HAS expressed enthusiasm and commitment towards organizing a memorable two day literary event that would celebrate the rich cultural heritage and literary legacy of Hajin, 'the town of poets and saints'. While throwing light on Yom e Aslaaf, Shakir Shafi a senior functionary of HAS said that it would be first time when HAS would be organising a two day literary event and all the office bearers and senior members are so enthusiastic about the same.“The literary contributions of Prof. Mohiuddin Hajini, Mohammad Ahsan Ahsan and Dr Aziz Hajini would be celebrated in the event while presenting papers and awards on these literary stalwarts of the town” He added. The event also promises to be a platform for showcasing the talent and creativity of local literary stalwarts while fostering a spirit of intellectual exchange and camaraderie within the organization.

Nazir Javid presented his latest Short Story in the first part of the meeting. General Council of HAS appreciated Nazir Javid's thought-provoking short story, leading to a stimulating discussion on various aspects of the literary piece. Dr. A. M. Nishtar, Azhar Hajini, Shakir Shafi

Simultaneously, Shabir Maqbool captivated the audience with his two Kashmiri poems, showcasing his poetic talent. Senior members of HAS, including the National Awardee Writer Majid Majazy and Sagar Sarfaraz, along with other literary personalities and members, shared their reflections on Maqbool's poems, highlighting the depth and beauty of his work.

Dr Reyaz ul Hassan conducted proceedings of the event in the most proficient manner.

In his vote of thanks, Shakir Shafi welcomed the new members of HAS and emphasized the importance for senior members to uphold and preserve the rich legacy that the organization is renowned for. The meeting concluded on a positive note, with renewed commitment to promoting literature, fostering creativity, and nurturing the literary atmosphere in Hajin.
