Musk`s X substitutes main executive

(MENAFN) Recent developments at X, under the leadership of CEO Linda Yaccarino, have seen the dismissal of Joe Benarroch, the former head of business operations and communications, according to a report by the financial Times citing anonymous sources familiar with the matter.

Yaccarino's decision to remove Benarroch from his role comes amidst increasing pressures from Elon Musk, owner of X, who has reportedly been urging Yaccarino to enhance revenue streams and implement cost-cutting measures. Yaccarino, who assumed the CEO position a year ago after being recruited from NBCUniversal, has been tasked with steering X through a period of strategic transformation.

Benarroch, who joined X just a year ago, previously held senior roles at NBCUniversal, where Yaccarino was CEO before her move to X under Musk's leadership. Sources within X, speaking to the Financial Times, indicated that Benarroch's departure was precipitated by mishandling the rollout of new adult content policies, which led to public confusion and dissatisfaction among clients who were not adequately informed of the changes in advance.

Earlier this month, X announced a revised policy allowing adult content on its platform while implementing restrictions to shield underage users and those who opt out from explicit and violent content. In response to Benarroch's departure, Nick Pickles, the company's global government affairs head, will temporarily assume expanded responsibilities, including overseeing global communications.

Insiders familiar with X's internal dynamics view this leadership reshuffle as a strategic move to bolster operational efficiency under Musk's vision for the company. Pickles, who has been with X since before Musk's acquisition in 2022, is seen within the company as taking on a more prominent role following Benarroch's exit.

The shake-up at X reflects ongoing efforts to align the platform's strategic direction with Musk's overarching objectives, highlighting the challenges and adjustments typical of corporate leadership transitions in dynamic tech environments.AD MORE: Musk to punish ‘genocide advocates’
