Amir, Russian President Hold Talks On Sidelines Of SCO Summit

The Amir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met today with His Excellency Vladimir Putin, President of the friendly Russian Federation, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in the Kazakh capital, Astana.

During the meeting, they reviewed the existing relations between the two countries and ways to enhance and develop them in various fields, in addition to exchanging views on issues of common interest, especially developments in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories.

The meeting was attended by HE Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Chief of the Amiri Diwan, HE Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs, and HE Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.

From the Russian side, it was attended by His Excellency Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Yuri Ushakov, Foreign Policy Advisor to the Russian President, and a number of senior officials.
