Zelensky: We Fully Choose Volume Of Electricity Imports Agreed With EU

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine fully chooses the volume of electricity imports agreed with the EU.

He said this in an evening address , Ukrinform reports.

"Now we are fully choosing the volume of imports agreed with the EU, and I am grateful to all our neighbors for this help. We are doing everything to increase imports, and this should be a European decision. Our government officials are working on the relevant agreement," Zelensky said.

According to him, the situation in the energy sector was one of the key topics of Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal's report.

"The head of government reported on measures to protect energy facilities: active protection, emergency response and everything else. He also reported on the reconstruction and our work with European partners to expand electricity imports to Ukraine," Zelensky said.

In his address, the President said that he had instructed Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov to present an analysis of telecom operators at the next meeting of the National Security and Defense Council: what is being done to guarantee communication in the face of power outages and which telecom operators do not comply with the relevant decisions.

"I also instructed the Minister of Energy to inform people on a daily basis about the state of work in the energy sector, about existing deficits and what the country is doing to fill them. The government must also work much more actively to ensure that our people and our companies have more opportunities to purchase, manufacture, and install all the necessary equipment to get through this difficult period," the Head of State said.

The President also said that the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service had also reported to him today.

"There is a clear range of issues - what threatens us and the opportunities we can take advantage of. There are good prospects," Zelensky said.
