Air Force Not Confirm Russia's Use Of FAB-3000 Bomb In Kharkiv Region

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The Ukrainian Air Force has not yet confirmed the use of the FAB-3000 bomb by Russian troops in the Kharkiv region.

Illia Yevlash, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force Command, said this on the air of the nationwide telethon 'United News', commenting on the video of the airstrike, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Yes, we have seen this video, but we will be able to talk about it definitively only when we officially manage to find the wreckage and at least get a look at the site. It's hard to tell from the video, so we need to wait a little bit until we can examine the site and say with certainty what type of munition it was," said the spokesman.

According to Yevlash, the Russians most often use FAB-250 and FAB-500, and modify them to fit a unified new munition.

"FAB-3000 is quite a rare case, and it is likely that if the examination confirms this, it will be one of the first times that the Russians have used such a powerful aircraft bomb," he added.

On June 20, Russian propaganda Telegram channels published a video of an airstrike on the border of the Kharkiv region. The description of the footage claims that the Russian army used the FAB-3000 M-54 with UMPK for the first time.

The footage shows a shell hitting and exploding near a three-story building. The building itself withstood, but was damaged by the blast wave.
