Tamil Nadu Unveils Textile Skill Development Programme

Chennai, Jun 14 (KNN) The Tamil Nadu government has unveiled plans for a comprehensive skill development programme in textiles through the state's Skill Development Corporation.
Given the textile industry's prominence in the regional Economy and its substantial employment potential, the initiative aims to equip youth with industry-relevant capabilities across various aspects of textile manufacturing and production.
According to government officials, the programme will feature a thorough curriculum and hands-on training components, providing participants with valuable insights and practical experience to facilitate career opportunities in the textile sector.
The training will be open to both women and men and conducted by the reputed South India Training and Research Society (SITRA).
"Developing a skilled workforce aligned with industry demands is crucial for the sustained growth of our textile sector," stated Textiles Minister. "This programme underscores our commitment to empowering the youth and ensuring the industry's continued competitiveness."
